About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team in Yakima, WA. This role will play a vital part in providing support and guidance to families in need, helping them navigate challenging situations and achieve their goals.
Job Summary
The Family Support Specialist will work closely with caregivers and at-risk children, providing home visits, case management, and connecting families with essential resources and services. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular home visits to assess family needs and develop personalized support plans
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and address complex family issues
Facilitate access to community resources, including transportation, education, and healthcare services
Maintain accurate records and documentation of family interactions, progress, and outcomes
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and individual supervision to enhance professional growth and development
Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding role, applicants should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in a human service field from an accredited university
- 2+ years of experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly caregivers and at-risk children
- Strong behavioral management skills, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual/bi-literate in English/Spanish, required
- Agency Affiliated Counselor certification and valid Washington State driver's license
