Position Summary and RequirementsThe Obstetric Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in supporting patient care under the guidance of an OR Registered Nurse, functioning as a sterile scrub person for surgical procedures.
- Prepare the sterile surgical environment using aseptic techniques, applying knowledge of human anatomy and surgical instruments.
- Assist the circulating Registered Nurse with the setup of the operating room, patient positioning, and instrument management.
- Manage surgical supplies effectively.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program or equivalent training (required).
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist and licensure by the Board of Health in Virginia (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
- At least one year of experience as a Surgical Technician (preferred).
- Experience in OB/GYN surgical procedures (preferred).
