Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, and draping them
  • Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments
  • Properly capture digital radiographs that are diagnostic and properly labeled
  • Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins
  • Detect disease by completing oral cancer screenings, feeling and visually examining gums, and using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, and placing and expediting orders
  • Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical, and dental histories and charting in patient records
  • Complete med consults as directed by the dentist and follow set clinic policies

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years preferred (but open to recent grads)
  • Expertise: Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques/CPR
