Insurance Account Manager

Alera Group, a leading insurance firm, is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team in Hart, MI. As a trusted advisor, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a book of business, overseeing transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for client teams.
- Acquire in-depth understanding of clients' insurance needs and risk management objectives, comparing insurance plans to determine the best recommendations.
- Create new business opportunities from existing accounts and referred leads, contributing to meeting departmental production goals.
- Manage, organize, and conduct client meetings when necessary, documenting conversations and updating automated agency management systems.
- Travel to support operations in offices throughout the Lighthouse footprint.
- Prepare weekly logs and reports for management as needed.
- Support, mentor, and train lower-level account managers as required.
- Attend industry-related continuing education training and courses.
- Lead by example, creating and maintaining a positive work environment, building trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive teamwork.
- Excellent listening, oral, and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Strong leadership skills, leading by example.
- Superior customer service and problem-solving skills, proven experience in a customer-facing role.
- Computer system proficiency, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to type 50 words per minute.
- High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
- Currently licensed or willing to obtain required industry licensure.
- Advanced professional designation highly desirable (AAI, ARM, CIC, etc.).
