Key Responsibilities

Our organization provides a comprehensive 13-week training program, which includes mentorship and a variety of learning experiences such as fieldwork, in-office training, and classroom instruction.

A Typical Day as a Family Support Case Manager

In this role, you will offer assistance and direction to families navigating the foster care system, while advocating for the successful permanency of children under the Managing Conservatorship of DFPS. You will collaborate with biological parents to identify essential services that can support them during challenging times. The focus of a Family Support Case Manager is to address family needs, including safety concerns, to enable families to reclaim their parenting roles. If that is not feasible, the priority shifts to securing safe permanency for children in the most family-oriented environment possible. Responsibilities include conducting monthly home visits, attending court proceedings, and collaborating with community stakeholders, among other duties. You will build a network with family members, community resources, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), and more to foster lasting partnerships with families.
