About the Role

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Support Services Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for providing essential support services to various departments, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and enhancing the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete all maintenance and repair tasks as directed by facilities and management, including but not limited to changing light fixtures and bulbs, utilizing a wet vacuum to remove water from flooded areas, etc.
  • Tend to all outside trash and recycling receptacles on property, checking and emptying them a minimum of 3 times a day (morning, mid-day, and afternoon).
  • Conduct a full sweep of the entire property, removing any trash and debris laying on the ground, parking lots, around trash bins, on tables, along the train road, etc., twice a day (morning/afternoon) or as needed.
  • Responsible for pressure washing, including the café seating area, pavilion tram depot, gates, buildings, golf carts, etc.
  • Support special events and company meetings by setting up and breaking down tables and chairs, speakers, projection equipment, televisions, extension cords, generators, decorations, and supplying additional trash cans and returning the bins at the completion of the event, etc.
  • Manage on-site parking by controlling the flow of traffic, directing parking during peak times or events.
  • Deliver mail, packages, and supplies to designated departments.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Represent a team-player spirit when assigned other duties as required.
Requirements
  • You have a 'can-do' attitude that delivers reliable service to satisfy internal and external customers who rely on facilities support to accomplish MPC's mission.
  • You're adaptable and can manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • You can lift 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, comfortable climbing ladders up to 12 feet, and can lift, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, and bend.
  • You offer exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and deliver polite and pleasant service to members, guests, volunteers, and other team members.
  • As Magnolia is a tourist attraction, this position may require long days and/or work on weekends as needed.
