We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Baker and Pastry Chef to join our team at Momofuku. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing bread, dough, and other baked goods in our kitchen.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of experience with laminated dough and bread production. You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and have a strong attention to detail. A passion for food, exceptional work ethic, and dedication are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare dough by measuring ingredients, mixing ingredients to form dough, cutting dough into portions, molding dough into leaves or desired shapes, and cooking dough as instructed by manager.
  • Ensure quality of results and execution of tasks.
  • Demonstrate safe and proper use of all kitchen equipment, including knife cutting skills.
  • Maintain proper organizing and stocking of work station.
  • Keep mixing and baking equipment operating by following operating instructions.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including health and sanitation.
  • Work with seasonal ingredients for the preparation of menu items.
  • Assist the BOH team with all preparation and organization in the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas.

Requirements
  • 1+ years of related experience with laminated dough and bread production.
  • Must thrive in fast-paced, high energy and team-oriented environments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A passion for food, exceptional work ethic, and dedication.
  • Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly, and constantly improve.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the location and level of experience required for the role.
