Northern Berkshire Pediatrics, LLP is seeking a dedicated psychiatric provider to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in a pediatric primary care environment.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in addressing the psychological components of patient care, which includes:

  • Managing both acute and chronic psychiatric conditions and disorders.
  • Administering psychopharmacological treatments.
  • Coordinating care in collaboration with medical and behavioral health professionals at NBP.

The Provider will also engage in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our pediatric patients.


Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required; Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Board Certification as an APRN in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or Family Psychiatry, or as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist.
  • Current APRN (NP or CNS) or Psychiatrist (MD or DO) license in Massachusetts.
  • Valid controlled substance registration from the DPH Controlled Substances Program and the DEA.
  • Registration in the Mass PAT Program.
  • A genuine passion for working with pediatric patients and their families.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in behavioral health, specifically in providing care to children and families. Candidates with less experience may be considered if mentorship is available in accordance with Massachusetts regulations. Candidates should possess:

  • Clinical skills relevant to developmental issues and effective communication with children and families.
  • Knowledge of community resources and familiarity with inpatient and outpatient mental health referral sources in Berkshire County, or a willingness to learn.
  • Comfort with electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
The essential duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for referred patients, including reviewing medical records and laboratory findings.
  • Providing age-appropriate psychiatric care for a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, and young adults, in collaboration with Northern Berkshire Pediatrics providers.
  • Triage, assess, and develop treatment plans for various mental health and developmental issues, including prescribing psychiatric medications.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all care provided in the electronic medical record.
  • Participating in educational and professional development opportunities to enhance evidence-based care delivery.
  • Sharing knowledge with clinical and behavioral staff to improve overall clinical practices at Northern Berkshire Pediatrics.
