Position Title
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Child/Adolescent/Adult

Role Summary
This role encompasses the assessment and management of mental health disorders through comprehensive evaluations and medication oversight. The practitioner will work closely with the Medical Director to ensure that care is safe, effective, and adheres to both State and Federal regulations, as well as company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain detailed patient information and health history.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, interviews, and observations.
  • Analyze patient data to diagnose mental health conditions accurately.
  • Administer medication management, infusions, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and psychotherapy.
  • Prepare and safeguard confidential patient records and reports.
  • Develop, update, and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and/or Chief Medical Officer in treatment plan development.
  • Monitor medication usage and its effects on patients.
  • Provide guidance to families regarding conditions and treatment options.
  • Refer clients to community resources or specialists as needed.
  • Assess the effectiveness of treatment regimens and monitor client progress.
  • Stay informed on advancements in the field through professional literature and courses.
  • Offer consultation to other professionals utilizing psychological approaches.
  • Organize community education workshops and participate in local programs.
  • Build referral networks by engaging with local healthcare providers.
  • Contribute to educational outreach initiatives, including provider luncheons.
  • Share relevant insights for the facility newsletter and community blog.
  • Adhere to company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control.
  • Educate patients and address inquiries from prospective patients and referring physicians.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high concentration levels.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background and Experience

  • Degree as a PMHNP - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, qualifying for collaborative medication assessment and prescription.
  • Current licensure as a psychiatric APRN in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical and administrative experience.
  • Experience in outpatient settings.
  • Board certification required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.

Work Environment
