Job Summary

University Health is seeking a skilled Mobile Crisis Response Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will be responsible for responding to behavioral health crisis calls and providing coordination of care for consumers in and outside of our system.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Respond to behavioral health crisis calls and provide crisis intervention services to consumers in need.
  2. Coordinate care for consumers in and outside of our system, ensuring seamless transitions and effective delivery of services.
  3. Enhance the ability of consumers to lead self-determining lives by providing support and information necessary to build self-esteem, assertiveness, and decision-making skills.
  4. Establish collaborative relationships with clients, their families, and other support resources, using effective communication skills to ensure delivery of crisis-related services.
  5. Use formal and informal crisis assessment practices to respond to the needs, desires, and interests of consumers, including facilitating hospitalization and conducting wellness checks.
  6. Provide information on relevant support resources available in the consumer's community and assist consumers in identifying and accessing these resources.
  7. Design safety care plans that include available resources and interventions to meet the unique needs of individual consumers, recognizing the importance of friends, family, and community relationships.
  8. Identify areas of self-improvement, pursue necessary educational/training resources, and share knowledge with others.
  9. Recognize and consider the diverse challenges facing consumers, including human rights, legal, administrative, and financial challenges, and apply effective advocacy strategies to overcome these challenges.
  10. Apply appropriate actions for crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution, matching techniques to client situations.
  11. Comply with department and division guidelines, completing work in a timely, organized, and professional manner.
  12. Promote quality improvement, staff and patient safety, and cultural diversity through department operations and personal performance.
  13. Provide service in a manner appropriate for the patient's age, demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to meet physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
  14. Present a courteous and helpful demeanor to all patients, visitors, and other University Health employees/medical staff members.
  15. Maintain current knowledge related to applicable statutes, regulations, guidelines, and standards necessary to perform job duties in accordance with the Corporate Compliance Plan.
