Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Virtua Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients, working under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and their families or significant others.
- Maintain high standards of professional ethics and demonstrate standard precautions, including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice.
- Perform technical duties as directed by RN/LPN, such as vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and foley catheter care, and document appropriately.
- Participate in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals, and assist in the orientation of new hires.
- Demonstrate required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures, and standards.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- High School Diploma or Grade Equivalent Diploma (GED) required.
- Must have successfully completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care.
- BLS certification.
- Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.
