Virtua Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Mt. Holly Hospital. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients, working under the direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN.
Key Responsibilities- Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others, maintaining high standards of professional ethics.
- Perform technical duties as directed by RN/LPN, such as vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and foley catheter care, documenting appropriately.
- Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN and respond accordingly.
- Reinforce education of patients and families/responsible parties regarding individual care needs and safety issues.
- Participate in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals, as well as performance improvement activities.
- Demonstrate required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures, and standards.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- High School Diploma or Grade Equivalent Diploma (GED) required, with successful completion of a PCT course, fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or equivalent experience.
- BLS certification is mandatory, with phlebotomy training/education required for Emergency Department positions.
