We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing empathic care to our patients, their families, and visitors. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and have frequent face-to-face communication with patients and their visitors to convey information on treatment procedures and visitor hours.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic care and support to patients, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Assist with daily living activities, such as toileting, grooming, and mobility
- Chart and document patient care and behaviors as required
- Take temperatures, pulse rates, blood pressure, and respiration rates
- Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties as related to direct care
- NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or certification from an approved certified nursing aide training program
- One year of patient care experience
- High School Diploma or GED
Stony Brook Medicine offers a competitive salary range of $45,152-$49,190 per year, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development. We are committed to providing a smoke-free environment and a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Please note that this position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair. Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services, complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references, and meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
