Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the 15 North Medicine department. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of the nursing profession at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and provide direct patient care
  • Practice infection control and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in unit-based quality assurance activities and contribute to the advancement of the nursing profession
Requirements
  • Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State
  • One year of post-licensure acute care nursing experience (or equivalent experience in a related field)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and at least one year of previous hospital acute care experience
Working Conditions

Working conditions may involve exposure to infectious disease, blood, body fluids, and other unpleasant elements. May be exposed to and required to handle varying unpredictable, emergency, and crisis situations. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
