Quality Nurse Educator Position Overview

Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice seeks a dedicated Nurse Educator Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Nurse Educator, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and enhancing the skills of our clinical staff.

Your Role
You will oversee both orientation and ongoing training, ensuring our team delivers safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care to patients. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Oversight and management of clinical training: lead the clinical preceptor program, ensuring competency checklists and training materials are up-to-date with homecare and hospice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluation and enhancement of competency: assess and address learning needs, design tailored learning experiences, and monitor the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Educational support and collaboration: develop and provide educational tools and resources, including agency procedures and patient materials, and collaborate with Clinical Managers on ongoing education.
  • Quality improvement and troubleshooting: conduct chart audits, offer recommendations for documentation improvements, and work with the IT Department to resolve clinical information system issues.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A VT Licensed BSN degree, preferably with a Masters degree.
  • Minimum two years clinical nursing experience.
  • Experience in home care and/or case management in a home care setting is preferred.
  • Experience teaching adults in a clinical setting is desired.
