Company Overview: Verdani Partners is on the lookout for a dedicated Energy Engineer to enhance our expanding technical services team. This role demands a proactive individual with exceptional skills in data interpretation, effective communication, and time management. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our corporate sustainability team to devise and execute environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies aimed at supporting global commercial real estate clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ENERGY STAR benchmarking and analyze environmental performance data (energy, water, greenhouse gas emissions, waste).
  • Assist in preparing various sustainability reports.
  • Perform energy audits (ASHRAE Level I & II), secure ENERGY STAR labels, and assess indoor air quality (IAQ).
  • Facilitate green building certifications (LEED, Fitwel, WELL, etc.).
  • Site visits may be required in the future, necessitating the ability to travel when appropriate.
  • Engage directly with clients, necessitating superior communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Generate high-quality reports, including graphs, tables, and presentations for client delivery.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related fields.

Desirable:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Field, or related disciplines.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED Accredited Professional – EBOM certification.
  • Certified Energy Manager or Certified Energy Auditor credentials.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Strong commitment to sustainability and green building practices.
  • Self-motivated with a robust work ethic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented approach.

Desirable:

  • Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting initiatives such as GRESB, CDP, UNPRI, etc.
  • Knowledge of green building certifications like LEED, Fitwel, WELL, IREM.
  • Experience in conducting energy audits (ASHRAE Level I, II, III).

Language Proficiency:

Fluency in English with exceptional written and communication skills.
