Job Overview

The Production Finance Analyst plays a crucial role in the operational accounting team, reporting directly to the Senior Production Accounting Analyst. This position is essential for overseeing daily and monthly production metrics, fostering effective communication between field measurement teams and corporate reporting divisions, and ensuring precise production reporting that supports both operational and strategic decision-making for TGNR HOLDCO LLC.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Analysis and Reporting: Conduct thorough reviews of daily production reports, analyze trends and expectations, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with field personnel to implement necessary real-time adjustments.

Monthly Analysis and Reporting: Perform comprehensive evaluations of monthly production reports, reconcile company production data with third-party statements, analyze trends, and coordinate with field personnel to address any required changes.

Collaboration with Measurement Teams: Work closely with the field measurement and reporting team to ensure accurate and complete monthly state reporting, incorporating all operational changes.

Interdepartmental Coordination: Liaise with various accounting departments, including Revenue, Joint Interest Billing, and Financial Reporting, to guarantee that complete and accurate production data is utilized in monthly accounting processes.

Policy Development: Establish formal production accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistent and reliable oversight, capture, and reporting of production data on a daily and monthly basis.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Finance team to provide essential data for budgeting and forecasting activities.

Reserves Reporting: Coordinate with the Reserves Group to supply data for mid-year and year-end reserves reporting and forecasting.

Support for Acquisitions: Assist in integration and divestiture activities as needed.

Special Projects: Engage in special projects and perform analyses as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in production accounting and a solid understanding of state and federal regulatory requirements. This role demands strong analytical and communication skills to effectively oversee production accounting processes, work closely with operations teams to ensure the accuracy of reporting, maintain field allocations, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas production accounting
  • Familiarity with production systems is essential
  • Experience with Cygnet, Flowcal, and PRAMS software is preferred
  • Knowledge of Quorum software is advantageous
  • Experience in state and federal reporting with a detailed understanding of compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including filters, pivot tables, lookups, etc.) and a solid understanding of databases and analytics
  • A team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
