Corporate Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Controller to join our finance team at a commercial and industrial machinery firm. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our financial operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and industry-specific guidelines. Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure proper financial reporting.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide monthly forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budget and provide insights into variances. Develop financial models to support business growth and decision-making.
  • Cash Flow & Asset Management: Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and efficient use of working capital. Oversee asset management, including capital expenditure tracking and inventory control.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on complex accounting issues. Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Strategic Support: Provide financial insight and guidance to senior management for strategic initiatives. Participate in high-level business discussions regarding mergers, acquisitions, and other business ventures. Collaborate with operations to analyze and streamline processes to improve profitability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance roles, with at least 3 years in a corporate controller or similar position.
  • Required industry experience in commercial and industrial machinery is essential.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in financial software systems (ERP systems experience preferred).
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment and manage multiple priorities.
