Engineering Assistant

The Engineering Assistant position plays a crucial role in supporting the engineering, production, and quality functions of Paumac Tubing Llc. This role involves the development of detailed Bill of Materials, standard shop routing, work instructions, and 1:1 CAD layouts using Solid Works to facilitate new part production, engineering changes, and process changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile Bills of Materials and process flows for newly awarded production parts using the company's ERP/MRP system.
- Utilize Solid Works for 1:1 full-scale printing and maintain the digital and printed library of full-scale drawings, including cataloging, re-printing as needed, and auditing storage locations.
- Create, sort, and analyze database information and reports using Excel with advanced features such as pivot tables, lookup functions, conditional formatting, sorting, and filtering.
- Maintain detailed records of tooling and fixture identification numbers, including affixing tags.
- Assist engineers and production teams in implementing continuous improvements in manufacturing flow by updating shop routers and work instructions.
- Administer the Engineering Change System, including record keeping with revisions and improvements to manufacturing methods and procedures, including writing change orders and deviations.
- Complete time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
- Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities by maintaining the company's KAIZEN program. Generate monthly KPIs for Kaizens implemented.
- Perform project or program management tasks as assigned.
- Manage customer portal databases and tooling.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Communicate with other departments as necessary.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Adhere to all company rules and policies.
Requirements:
- Expertise in compiling Bills of Materials and process flows.
- Basic understanding of Solid Works and 1:1 full-scale printing.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and conditional formatting.
