Job Summary

A maintenance apprentice at DENSO works alongside experienced maintenance technicians to develop skills in the trade. This role involves assisting with various duties, including equipment installation, mechanical system maintenance, and machine repair. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to complete classroom or online training on HVAC structures, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, and other technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular evaluations to assess performance, safety, attitude, and attendance.
  • Assist senior maintenance team members with planning and executing work that requires knowledge of electrical, mechanical, robotic, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions to perform maintenance and repair work.
  • Utilize a range of measuring, gauging, analysis, machine, and hand tools to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate maintenance issues, results, corrective actions, and recommendations to the leadership chain and customers through the CMMS work order system and/or email.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with other support groups as needed, including engineering, machining, die maintenance, administrative personnel, etc.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the leadership chain.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow maintenance, safety, and quality instructions and compile and record maintenance data.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines and tools, and visually inspect equipment, controls, and components.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate production equipment, test equipment, tools, and handle materials and components properly.
  • Willingness to wear required safety equipment and follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime.
Preferred Requirements
  • Completion of a 2-year technical degree or courses related to the maintenance field.
  • Mechanical/electrical experience.
  • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience.
  • Personal computer and Microsoft Office experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires constant standing and moving 8-12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to constantly lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel.
  • Must be able to apply up to 66lbs push/pull force unassisted.
  • Must be able to reach overhead.
