Job Title: Legal Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Specialist to join our team at the City of Flagstaff, AZ. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our legal department, including preparing and processing legal documents, conducting research, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and court filings.
  • Conduct research and provide information to support legal cases and proceedings.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and other legal staff, including preparing and editing documents, and coordinating meetings and appointments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files, including electronic and physical records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years of increasingly responsible experience as an administrative or legal assistant.
  • Associate degree in a related field, or a degree from an ABA-approved legal assistant program.
  • Bilingual verbal communication ability in Spanish or Navajo.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a legal or law enforcement environment.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
