Bioinformatics Specialist

The Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics and computational analysis, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
As a Bioinformatics Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing computational pipelines, analyzing large-scale sequencing data, and collaborating with researchers to design and interpret studies. You will also have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the development of new methodologies.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in a relevant field and strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or C/C++. Experience with high-performance computing and open-source software tools is also highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement computational pipelines for data analysis
- Analyze large-scale sequencing data, including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics
- Collaborate with researchers to design and interpret studies
- Develop and maintain open-source software tools for data analysis
- Contribute to the development of new methodologies and technologies
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics)
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or C/C++
