Job Summary

Manhattan Country Club is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team for the golf season. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food in accordance with company recipes and health code standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Food Preparation: Prepare food in accordance with company recipes and health code standards.
  2. Food Production: Handle daily prep duties and food production.
  3. Quality Control: Ensure food is prepared per Company standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  4. Inventory Management: Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
  5. Menu Development: Assist with the development and creation of menu items.
  6. Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area and ensure that it meets health code regulations.
  7. Washing and Sanitizing: Wash dishes, silverware, drinkware and kitchen cookware.
  8. Stock Management: Maintain kitchen stock at line stations to ensure efficient kitchen service.
  9. Inventory Ordering: Check in stock orders delivered by vendors and assists with inventory ordering.
  10. Closing Procedures: Close the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
  11. Club Dress Code: Adheres to club dress code policy.
  12. Employee Meetings: Attends and participates in all employee meetings.
  13. Commitment to Excellence: Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the club and the Company by being service- and solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all club staff and members/guests, and meeting established quality, service and safety expectations.
  14. Additional Assignments: Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.
  15. Punctuality: Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required.
Requirements
  1. Customer Service: Must have the ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
  2. Communication Skills: Good oral communication skills.
  3. Culinary Skills: Basic culinary skills and knowledge.
  4. Food Safety: Understanding of safe food handling procedures and process. Able to direct and maintain a safe and secure environment and operation.
Education and Experience
  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Experience: Previous experience (2-3 years) in food preparation and cooking.
  3. Certification: Certified Food Handler (serving or Local Certification)

  • Visual and Auditory: Seeing and hearing: read documents, computer screen, answer phones, communicate in person 0-24%
  • Physical Activity: Standing and walking 75-100%
  • Mobility: Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling 0-24%
  • Dexterity: Utilizing phone, typing, writing and commercial kitchen equipment %
