Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute cleaning duties effectively, adhering to the established 7 Step Cleaning Process.
  • Maintain high-quality standards to ensure a sanitary and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Keep cleaning carts, equipment storage areas, and waste disposal zones organized and tidy, ensuring all cleaning supplies are correctly labeled.
  • Engage positively with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues through verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Assist individuals as necessary or direct them to the appropriate personnel for assistance.
  • Utilize cleaning chemicals safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform cleaning tasks in offices, patient rooms, classrooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, food service areas, and any other spaces requiring attention.
  • Conduct sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of hallways, staircases, and office spaces.
  • Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, and window treatments.
  • Empty waste containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Restock supplies and materials as needed.
  • Move furniture and arrange tables and chairs for various settings.
  • Report maintenance needs or repairs to supervisors promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Document and report any accidents or injuries without delay.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, training sessions, and hazard assessments.
  • Apply all relevant OSHA and local safety regulations to assigned tasks.
  • Complete required training programs as designated by the organization, both in-person and online.
  • Handle and package regulated medical waste and chemotherapy waste as necessary.
  • Change cubicle and shower curtains when required.
Additional Duties
  • Carry out other assigned tasks as needed.
  • Follow all organizational policies and standards.
  • Refer to departmental documentation provided during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding the secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients.
Qualifications:
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
Experience
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a solid work ethic and the ability to work independently (Required proficiency).
  • Comprehend written protocols and instructions (Required proficiency).
  • Utilize relevant electronic and communication devices effectively (Required proficiency).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) (Required proficiency).
  • Capable of reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and frequently lifting up to 50 pounds (Required proficiency).
  • Primarily indoor work; may involve outdoor activities (Required proficiency).
  • Wear protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment as required due to exposure to cleaning chemicals (Required proficiency).
  • Proficient in ladder usage (Required proficiency).
Physical Requirements
  • Constantly standing and walking.
  • Rarely sitting.
  • Regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.

Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel (10%) may be required.
