">About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Care Professional to join our team at Tufts Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to work alongside our experienced physicians and healthcare professionals in providing exceptional patient care.
">Job Summary:The Surgical Care Professional will be responsible for providing preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to adult cardiac surgery patients. This includes performing daily rounds, developing and implementing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, and first-assisting in operative cases.
">Responsibilities:- Develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans for cardiac surgical patients.
- Provides preoperative preparation and postoperative care of patients, including reinforcing information presented by the attending physician to the patient and/or family as necessary.
- Coordinates care of various disciplines and specialties, orders necessary diagnostic tests, consultations, and procedures as indicated or requested by the attending physician.
- Manages critically ill surgical patients under the direction and supervision of a cardiac surgeon and/or critical care intensivist.
- Performs bedside diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures as indicated or directed by the attending physician.
- Promotes basic and advanced cardiac life support procedures as necessary and directs these efforts until the arrival of a senior physician.
- Prepares patients for transfer or discharge, including patient and family teaching, continuing care and rehabilitation arrangements, writes discharge prescriptions, and confirms primary care or referring physician follow-up.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree, graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program, Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, Eligible for state and federal controlled substances registration, Ability to interact positively with all members of the multidisciplinary care team, patients, and families, Emotional intelligence to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
">Salary and Benefits:We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $170,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
