We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Advocate Health. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and maintain monitoring equipment in the operating room, including patient monitoring systems, ventilators, and defibrillators.
- Assist in the insertion of arterial pressure lines, central venous catheters, and Swan-Ganz catheters.
- Draw blood samples for diagnostic testing and calibrate pressure and recording systems.
- Assist in patient transfers and establish ECG and pressure monitoring at the destination.
- Clean and maintain equipment, perform daily maintenance checks, and stock supplies.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and take necessary steps to return equipment to a safe and reliable operating condition.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- High School Graduate.
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in a surgical, medical, or related healthcare setting.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
This role requires standing, sitting, walking, and lifting throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
