Job Summary and Qualifications

The Healthcare Support Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of essential patient care services related to common nursing functions and daily living activities.

Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the Specialist assists in providing patient care in accordance with their training and departmental needs, while ensuring a clean, organized, and safe care environment.


Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the execution of nursing care plans by providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Collect and document initial and ongoing patient information throughout the care cycle, including vital signs and other relevant data.
- Assist with patient mobility, including turning, positioning, and ambulating.
- Support patients with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and grooming.
- Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens for diagnostic tests.
- Engage in best practices that enhance the patient experience, including effective communication and safety protocols.


Requirements:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, with frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
