Job Summary:

The Role:

As an Emergency Services Technician, you will provide emergent/urgent patient care under the direction of medical staff, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

The Work:

You will perform basic patient care activities within the scope of practice, assist patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs, and report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions.


Responsibilities:

  1. Greets patients and visitors, answers, screens, and routes telephone calls, and calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
  2. Performs technical procedures as delegated by medical staff, including ECGs, splinting, and specimen collection.
  3. Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.


Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience leading a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and support skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and shift priorities quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail.


Certifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Maine Registry of Certified Nursing Assistants and Direct Care Workers, or Licensed EMT - Maine Department of Public Safety (DPS), or Certified Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) - MOAB Training International Inc.
