Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled technician to enhance their support team. This role is designed as a contract-to-hire opportunity, allowing for professional growth within the IT sector.

Role Responsibilities:

The IT support technician will deliver exceptional technical assistance to users across the organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software challenges.
  • Providing technical support for network connectivity issues.
  • Ensuring the optimal performance of all IT systems.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining both hardware and software solutions.
  • Training and supporting users on both new and existing technologies.

The primary objective of this position is to guarantee that all IT systems function at peak efficiency, ensuring users have the necessary tools and support to fulfill their job responsibilities effectively.

Key Duties Include:

  • Operating within a Windows environment.
  • Handling approximately 25 support calls daily, primarily escalated from the first-level service desk.
  • Participating in a two-step interview process.
  • Provisioning and supporting various equipment such as computers, phones, tablets, and printers.
  • Managing accounts for designated systems and applications.
  • Providing timely resolutions for end-user technical issues, both in-person and via phone.
  • Documenting technical issues and solutions accurately in the support system.
  • Creating and maintaining user training materials and documentation.
  • Conducting ongoing monitoring and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Managing IT assets, including procurement and inventory tracking.
  • Ensuring compliance with security protocols and organizational policies.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in desktop support and ticketing systems.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

Qualifications:

  • A solid grasp of hardware, software, and networking systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with technical and non-technical users.
  • Strong time management abilities to prioritize multiple technical issues.
  • Attention to detail in documentation and troubleshooting processes.
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and environments.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams and departments.
  • High School Diploma required; 1+ years of experience in a technical support role preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field is advantageous.
  • Relevant IT certifications are a plus.
