Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at Cornerstone Detention Products. The successful candidate will play a critical role in our procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process purchase requisitions efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Determine detailed specification requirements for purchases and estimate values based on market prices, leveraging industry knowledge and market trends.
  • Conduct thorough supplier performance ratings and evaluate vendor products and services, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and freight with vendors, ensuring optimal terms and conditions.
  • Facilitate the negotiation of purchase terms and payment terms, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Solicit vendors, perform vendor evaluations, negotiations, and administration, maintaining a robust and diverse vendor base.
  • Resolve vendor-related issues, including terms, quality, and delivery, ensuring minimal disruptions to business operations.
  • Expedite the delivery of goods to users, reviewing bid proposals and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including costs, delivery, product quality, or performance, and inventories.
  • Provide support to the general accounting group as necessary, including the month-end close cycle, ensuring seamless financial operations.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Procurement experience in a similar industry or role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
