Construction Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team at Flatiron Construction. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction work meets all engineering standards, codes, and contract specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Meet daily with project crews to review production schedules and confirm materials, equipment, and resources are available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
- Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
- Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling, identifying risk elements that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
- Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
- Document daily activities using Company-approved methods and technologies.
- Notify team members and manager of significant schedule changes and recommend solutions for management consideration.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
- Remit accurate project quantity input and controls using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported.
- Review and approve daily timecards for all Company construction crews.
- Review project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project, and after work completes.
- Initiate and manage certificates, inspections, and other documentation regarding construction production on the project site.
- Work with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout on the project site, ensuring utility and commercial lines are marked before production begins.
- Conduct required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all construction personnel.
- Assist the estimating team with project schedules and provide technical input as needed.
- Assist the development of design drawings and provide technical input as needed.
- Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule, and crews as needed.
- Reconcile job close-out checklist with owner representative and field crews at the end of the project.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
- 1+ year experience preferred.
- Construction engineering experience or knowledge required.
- Beginner knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to the project.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
