We are seeking Medical Communications Coordinators to manage urgent medical transportation requests and effectively communicate that information to the medical teams operating in the area.

This role requires the ability to perform under pressure while maintaining composure.

A keen attention to detail is essential, as the individual must sustain focus on all aircraft during operations.

Our Medical Communications Coordinators are tasked with demonstrating proficiency in utilizing all communication devices, information systems, and any related technology associated with the Medical Communications Center.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Address customer needs promptly, professionally, and respectfully.
  • Act as a resource for our program partners.
  • Exhibit excellent telephone communication skills and etiquette.
  • Possess knowledge of relevant Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
  • Quickly and accurately relay flight requests to the appropriate transport resources.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, keeping skills and knowledge current.
  • Prioritize patient and crew safety.
  • Assess the need for and swiftly initiate the post-accident incident plan (PAIP) when necessary.
  • Ensure clear and concise radio communications, adhering to FCC regulations.
  • Represent the organization to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff in the Communications Center.
  • Work in conjunction with Operational Control, Maintenance, Aviation, and program staff to ensure safe and efficient dispatch and flight monitoring processes.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures to maintain quality throughout the dispatch process.
  • Ensure the accuracy of both internal and externally reported data through precise data entry.
  • Stay informed about disaster response protocols and participate in evacuation drills.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Some relevant experience, ideally in dispatch or customer service call routing

NAACS, IAMTCS Certification or an industry-recognized equivalent

Emergency Medical Dispatch certification

EMT-B or Paramedic certification

Proficient in industry-standard dispatch software.

Strong customer service skills with a high degree of professionalism


At least 2 years of experience in an EMS/911/Aviation dispatching environment or two years of experience as an EMT or Paramedic in a 911 or hospital setting, or a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience or dispatching in a non-911 context with at least 1 year in healthcare, EMS, or public safety.

Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations

Ability to adapt and respond effectively to changing work demands
