Healthcare Patient Services Coordinator
SUMMARY: This role is dedicated to ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both new and existing patients concerning their medication needs, clinical services, billing questions, and overall feedback.
Location: Remote
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle incoming calls from patients regarding medication orders, pharmacy services, and other non-clinical inquiries.
- Conduct outreach to patients for compliance and routine follow-ups as part of the patient management program.
- Meet established productivity and quality benchmarks as directed by management.
- Perform data entry tasks, including patient demographics, billing details, medical history, and prescription records.
- Verify insurance information, coordinate benefits, and collect co-pays.
- Provide information on pricing, availability, and scheduling.
- Schedule specialty and retail orders efficiently.
- Effectively direct patient inquiries to the appropriate members of the Pharmacy Team.
Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting patients with their inquiries and concerns in a friendly and professional manner, while maintaining a positive attitude.
Ensure patient rights are upheld, including privacy and confidentiality.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment that requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required).
- Bilingual in Spanish (Required).
- Experience in customer service within healthcare, specialty pharmacy, PBM, or call center environments (Required).
- Proven ability to meet quality service standards and evaluate customer satisfaction (Required).
- Basic proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office Suite, or similar software (Required).
- Pharmacy Technician registration from a State Board of Pharmacy (Preferred).
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact in a confidential and diplomatic manner.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and courteously.
- Basic data entry and word processing skills, with a focus on accuracy.
- Empathetic approach to customer service issues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements for this position include regular communication, visual acuity for detail, and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
This role necessitates:
- Frequent talking and listening.
- Close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Ability to sit and use hands for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
