Behavioral Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician III to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic interventions and support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute individual treatment plans for clients in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Provide day-to-day oversight of all therapeutic activities, ensuring a stable and smooth operation of the program.
- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions, utilizing a range of techniques to address mental health, emotional, and social issues.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and participate in weekly treatment team planning.
- Collaborate with other staff members to provide input into treatment plans and ensure a cohesive approach to client care.
- Orient family members to the nature of therapeutic services and the specific program, promoting positive family relations and effective parental strategies.
- Manage behavioral crises, including 1:1 observation, redirection, physical restraint, and team crisis interventions.
- Write behavioral management plans for acute patients in cooperation with treatment team recommendations.
- Assist with medication administration and recording as directed.
- Communicate relevant client progress and participate in weekly treatment team planning.
- Maintain ongoing professional relationships with personnel from schools, public agencies, and mental health and drug and alcohol treatment facilities.
- Address and resolve client funding matters, conducting inter-agency meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate in treatment and discharge plans with clients, guardians, and community agencies.
- Provide transportation in a WellSpan Philhaven vehicle to and from the program for clients who meet requirements and need transportation.
- Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline, such as social work, psychology, nursing, or rehabilitation therapy.
- 1 year of behavioral health experience or 1 year of social science experience.
- Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
- Valid driver's license upon hire.
- Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.
- Analytical skills, organization, and time management.
- Mental and visual ability to observe client behavior and document findings.
- Teaching ability, customer service awareness, and capability.
- Knowledge of current activities, therapy principles, and group counseling skills/techniques.
This role requires standing, walking, and sitting frequently, with occasional carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds. The occupational hazards and bloodborne pathogen exposure are occasional.
