We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Technician III to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic interventions and facilitating a stable and smooth operation of our program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute individual treatment plans for clients in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Provide day-to-day oversight of all therapeutic activities, including individual, group, and family therapy.
- Maintain an awareness of significant client history, present status, and any precautions in effect.
- Collaborate with other staff to provide input into treatment plans for individual clients.
- Orient family members to the nature of therapeutic services and the specific program.
- Promote positive family relations and increase other family members' understanding of client needs and progress.
- Manage behavioral crises, including 1:1 observation, redirection, physical restraint, and team crisis interventions.
- Write behavioral management plans for acute patients in cooperation with treatment team recommendations.
- Complete assessments as needed and assist with medication administration and recording as directed.
- Communicate relevant client progress and participate in weekly treatment team planning.
- Maintain ongoing professional relationships with personnel from schools, public agencies, and mental health and drug and alcohol treatment facilities.
- Address and resolve client funding matters and conduct inter-agency meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate in appropriate treatment and discharge plans with client, guardians, and community agencies.
- Provide transportation in a WellSpan Philhaven vehicle to and from the program for clients that meet requirements and are in need of transportation.
- Bachelor's degree in a recognized clinical discipline, including social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, or activity therapies.
- 1 year of behavioral health experience or 1 year of social science experience.
- Basic Life Support certification upon hire and a valid driver's license upon hire.
- Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills, analytical skills, organization and time management, mental and visual ability to observe client behavior and document findings, teaching ability, customer service awareness and capability, knowledge of current activities, therapy principles, and group counseling skills/techniques.
This role requires standing, walking, sitting, carrying/lifting (up to 50lbs), pushing/pulling (up to 50lbs), kneeling/crouching, reaching, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination, and working in an occupational hazard environment with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
