Job Summary

As a Network Specialist at Marriott International Inc, you will contribute advanced knowledge and skills in technology to support property and technology objectives. You will work with the property leadership to assist with technology planning, implementation, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation. You will be responsible for managing technology assets, verifying equipment availability, and serving as a technical analyst for network design and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage technology assets and verify equipment availability
  • Serve as a technical analyst for network design and implementation
  • Identify and resolve network and system performance problems
  • Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Verify technology assets are secure and well-maintained
  • Install, monitor, and maintain telecommunications equipment
  • Perform or manage adds/moves/changes/deletions to network equipment
  • Confirm adequate bandwidth exists and circuits are secured
  • Verify security procedures are implemented and enforced
  • Troubleshoot high-speed Internet access problems
  • Escalate problems through proper channels
  • Monitor network performance and assure reliable network responsiveness
  • Maintain physical network hardware infrastructure and software configuration
  • Provide network design and consultation for exhibition clients
  • Maintain all necessary network documentation and inventory databases
  • Communicate WAN issues to stakeholders as needed
  • Meet with clients for review of technical requirements
  • Assist with development and improvement of support procedures and new services methodology
  • Provide end-user support to property staff and business center
  • Create and maintain secure network and server environment
  • Perform network equipment backups and routine/non-routine preventative maintenance

Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or a related major; 5 years' experience in a related professional area
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related major; 3 years' experience in a related professional area
  • Previous experience supporting highly complex units desirable
  • Previous experience in IT Global Field Services or Marriott Systems Support desirable
  • System or network related professional certifications desired
