Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery & Vascular Trauma Stepdown Unit at Duke University Hospital. As a critical care specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to acutely ill patients, including those with abdominal and vascular surgeries, abdominal oncology, and trauma patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including cardiac telemetry monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collect and analyze laboratory specimens, including blood and urine.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
- Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina.
- BLS (or higher) certification required.
- Professional specialty certification (preferred).
