Job Overview

MagVenture is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the monthly inventory process and account analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports for taxes and other regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the general ledger and assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Supervise accounting assistants and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Coordinate ad-hoc projects as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a staff accountant.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software QuickBooks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable in ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
