DEPARTMENT: Culinary Services

REPORTS TO: Sous Chef/Executive Chef

POSITION SUMMARY

Oversee all facets of food preparation for large-scale events, ensuring adherence to quality standards and sanitation protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and present food items for guests utilizing established methods to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Organize and set up workstations according to predetermined specifications for all catering functions.
  • Implement daily sanitation and safety practices to guarantee exceptional customer satisfaction.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Alongside the essential responsibilities, this role may involve a combination of the following supportive tasks, with the distribution of time spent on each determined by management based on the specific needs of the establishment:

  • Engage with the Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, or Sous Chef regularly, as well as collaborate with other departments linked to the Culinary Services.
  • Contribute to long-term planning initiatives.
  • Support and provide input for ongoing programs aimed at continuous improvement within the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Most tasks are performed indoors, with a controlled environment; however, the ability to work in extreme temperatures is necessary.
  • Must be capable of sitting for extended periods, with walking and standing required for the remainder of the workday.
  • Ability to handle kitchen tools and equipment, including lifting and transporting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate culinary techniques effectively, including cutting, cooking methods, and presentation.
  • Ability to create and manage displays of significant height safely.
  • Work in a noisy environment where communication may require elevated volume.
  • Must possess the agility to navigate limited spaces and reach various locations promptly.
  • Regularly bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs, with occasional pushing and pulling of heavier equipment.
  • Engage in various physical activities, including writing, standing, and listening, requiring visual acuity.
  • Continuous communication with guests and team members is essential.

WORK SCHEDULE

This organization operates continuously throughout the week. Flexibility in scheduling may be required based on business needs.
