At MultiCare Health System, Inc., we are committed to partnering for healing and a healthy future. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a vital role in our mission by providing exceptional support to our technical staff.

This position involves the receipt, processing, and storage of various specimens, as well as performing non-technical tasks and CLIA waived and moderately complex testing under the supervision of the Lab Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ordering, receiving, and storing testing supplies
  • Performing waived and moderate complex testing using manual and automated methods
  • Verifying instrument and/or method performance using quality control materials and processes
  • Reporting testing results in the Laboratory Information System
  • Performing and documenting quality assurance, including selection of method and evaluation of results

Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing and issuing blood products for routine transfusion, understanding and enforcing established safety procedures and policies, and maintaining and updating knowledge and skills of laboratory medicine.

Requirements for this position include a high school graduate or equivalent and one year of recent laboratory experience within the past two years, which includes specimen processing and laboratory computer functions.
