Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner

Role Summary: This position focuses on the Cardiology/EP specialization. In collaboration with attending physicians, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and oversee patient care in both outpatient and inpatient Electrophysiology settings. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of Advanced Clinical Practice Providers, Nurses, and Technicians to assess and manage patients with conduction system disorders, arrhythmias, as well as those with Pacemakers and Defibrillators.
Experience Requirements: Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Cardiology or Electrophysiology, whether as an Advanced Practice Provider or in Nursing. Orientation will be tailored to the individual’s experience level.
Educational Qualifications: A Master’s degree or higher is required, with graduation from an ANA accredited School of Nursing.
Licenses and Credentials: A current New Jersey License as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Certification through a recognized specialty association is mandatory. Additionally, current CDS and DEA licenses are required, with compliance expected within six months of employment. Credentialing and clinical privileges will be granted in accordance with center protocols.
Essential Skills: Candidates must maintain required continuing education credits, uphold current BLS and ACLS certifications, and complete the necessary education for nurse practitioner recertification, which includes 20 hours of category 1 contact hours annually. It is essential that 50% of the overall credits over five years are obtained from an ANCC approved provider. Proficiency in computer systems is also necessary.
Interpersonal Interactions: The role involves regular internal and external communications that require considerable tact, discretion, and persuasion to obtain necessary information or consent.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position includes oversight of staff RN’s patients, families, and therapists.
Supervision Structure: Duties are performed in accordance with approved privileges, following established protocols, and reporting to the immediate supervisor.
Work Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly, Monday through Friday.
