About the Role

Pittock Mansion Society is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities and Operations to join our team. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our historic house museum and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the facilities, including the Mansion, Gate Lodge, and Garage, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all buildings and grounds, including scheduling and coordinating with contractors and vendors.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for facilities management, including emergency response plans and safety protocols.
  • Supervise and train staff, including the Buildings Caretaker and Maintenance Liaison, Assistant Manager of Museum Store, Preservation Intern, and Administrative Assistant.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Guest Experience, Interpretation and Community Engagement, and Development/Fundraising, to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Manage and maintain the Point of Sale (POS) system, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in facilities and operations management, preferably in a museum or historic site environment.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of senior leadership experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong IT proficiency and systems management skills.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills, especially in working with city officials and contractors.
  • Ability to work onsite with availability for some weekend work.
