About Us:

Environment for the Americas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting diverse individuals to conservation through education, outreach, and research. We are seeking a skilled Recruitment and Internship Lead to support our mission and adapt to the evolving needs of our organization.

Position Overview:

As the Recruitment and Internship Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission while focusing on internship programs and communication with up to 10+ interns. You will also work to integrate education programs into our internship activities, including World Migratory Bird Day and Monarch programs, to raise awareness of migratory species and their conservation. Additionally, you will be involved in communicating about our internship positions with colleges and universities and maintaining records of our recruitment in Salesforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Internship & Education Support:
  • Track and manage logistics for 10+ interns.
  • Integrate World Migratory Bird Day and Monarch programs into our internship activities.
  • Recruitment at Colleges and Universities:
  • Develop and maintain an effective college recruitment program.
  • Build sustainable relationships with key universities, professors, and student organizations.
  • Organize on-campus information sessions, career fairs, and outreach events.
  • Outreach to BIPOC Students and Early Career Professionals:
  • Implement strategies to attract diverse candidates to our internship programs.
  • Coordinate participation in career fairs and outreach events.
  • Process Improvements:
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment processes and develop improvement plans.
  • Monitor and analyze recruitment metrics, making data-informed decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Superior analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules for site visits.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Experience working with HBCUs, Tribal Colleges, and Hispanic-Serving Institutions.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to travel and work some nights and weekends

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed (site visits and university visits).
