Position Overview

As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost accounting operations, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, reporting systems, and accounting controls to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Enhancing the annual budgeting process and conducting monthly evaluations of departmental expenditures.
  • Supervising external audits to ensure there are no significant misstatements.
  • Preparing weekly financial reports and analyzing operational metrics.
  • Reviewing work-in-process batches for accuracy, recording encapsulation/bottling costs, and assessing rework expenses.
  • Maintaining sub-ledger activities, including inventory, work-in-progress, and bill of materials.
  • Analyzing and updating encapsulation/bottling costs until labor rates are established.
  • Collaborating with the Purchasing department on standard material cost updates.
  • Partnering with Warehouse/Inventory Control on cycle counts and physical inventory assessments.
  • Working alongside Supply Chain to minimize aged and obsolete inventory.
  • Implementing and training the Production team on labor/material capture processes.
  • Participating in initiatives aimed at reducing waste and material losses.
  • Providing analytical insights and reports on manufacturing costs to management.

In summary, you will lead cost accounting operations, deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, and identify opportunities for enhanced financial performance.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in Accounting (including Cost Accounting)
  • Experience with large ERP systems
  • Background in manufacturing, food, or pharmaceutical industries
