We are seeking a highly skilled Rail/Track Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to support project design teams.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex engineering calculations and create detailed estimates
- Research and apply relevant code provisions to design railway infrastructure
- Create cost estimates for project alternatives and develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects
- Perform quality assurance and quality control by verifying design methodology, calculations, and outcomes
- Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and create 3D models
- Research design options and document findings for project engineers and managers
- Submit concept designs and work through approval processes, including permits from municipalities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to create project designs
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering
- 1-3 years' experience in track design and railway engineering, preferably with proficiency in Microstation and OpenRoads
- Ability to create drawings from sketches and ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
- Strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
