Job Description:

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing therapy services to patients with communication disorders. This role also involves consulting with healthcare teams, educating patients and caregivers, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive care.

Scope of the Role:

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting speech therapy evaluations, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy services to hospital inpatients and outpatients.
  • Collaborating with the Physical Medicine Director to coordinate speech therapy activities with other hospital disciplines and develop a program for department expansion, community and physician marketing, budget needs, and department administration.
  • Working independently with limited contact with other Speech Language Pathologists.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree in Speech Pathology.
  • A current license to practice speech-language pathology in the State of Colorado.
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) and achieve clinical competencies by the required clinical internships.
  • Strong Clinical Fellows with demonstrated competence may work under supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist while completing the fellowship year.
  • A current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
  • At least six (6) months of experience in the acute care setting, including experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires:

  • Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.

Location:

Platte Valley Hospital, Brighton, CO.

Work Schedule:

PRN (as needed) schedule.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $52.55.
