We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dietitian/Health Professional to join our team at the Greene County Combined Health District. As a key member of our Community Health Services department, you will play a vital role in promoting health and wellness in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and conduct nutritional programs to promote health and control disease.
- Conduct health assessments and provide nutrition counseling to individuals and families.
- Conduct nutritional research and develop curriculum and materials for teaching.
- Consult with physicians and healthcare personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
- Counsel individuals, groups, and target populations on basic rules of good nutrition and healthy eating habits.
- Make recommendations regarding public policy, such as nutrition labeling and food fortification.
- Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse populations.
- Assist with planning and preparing grant proposals and budget oversight.
- Comply with federal, state, and health district policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a dietetic internship program approved by the American Dietetic Association.
- Experience in maternal and child nutrition, including breastfeeding education.
- Literacy and language skills to address the needs of diverse participants.
- Valid driver's license and Ohio licensed/registered dietitian or registered nurse certification.
- Public Health Tier: 1 - Front Line and Program Support Responsibilities.
- Organizational Competencies, including dependability, judgement, communication, customer satisfaction, quality, equity, inclusion, community partnership skills, data analytics and assessment skills, policy development and program planning skills, communication skills, health equity skills, community partnership skills, public health sciences skills, management and finance skills, and leadership and systems thinking skills.
This is a professional office environment with occasional work-related travel. Employees may be subject to inclement weather, noise, and other environmental conditions.
