Critical Care Respiratory Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join our team at White Rock Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert respiratory care services to critically ill patients and work collaboratively with other professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 per year, based on experience.

Responsibilities

The Critical Care Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory care services to critically ill patients in various clinical areas, including intensive care units and emergency departments. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with inter-disciplinary teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform invasive arterial blood gas draws and interpret ABG results.
  • Initiate and maintain medical gas therapy, including oxygen and heliox.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree from a CoARC-accredited school for Respiratory Therapy.
  • Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of Texas.
  • RRT Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • BLS Certification from AHA or ARC.
  • ACLS Certification from AHA or ARC within 60 days of hire date.
