Pharmacist Job Description

Mission Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe and effective distribution of medication to patients.
  • Manage drug inventory control and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare medications for prescriptions, including admixtures and compounding.
  • Assist pharmacists with medication therapies and other related duties.
  • Educate and counsel patients and healthcare professionals on medication use and safety.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports of medication distribution and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, laws, and standards regarding pharmacy practices.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the pharmacy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (or PharmD).
  • Current license from the California State Board of Pharmacy.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Knowledge of USP Chapters and State and Federal laws and standards regarding pharmacy practices.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy computer software and automated systems.
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures.
