Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of day-to-day kitchen operations, including coordinating schedules and ensuring food quality and presentation.
  • Participate in menu development, food preparation, and product ordering based on projected business levels.
  • Conduct regular kitchen inspections and promptly address any deficiencies.
  • Control financials by managing labor, food costs, waste, and adherence to recipes and product specifications.
  • Encourage a safe food culture that adheres to all Health Department and food handling guidelines.
  • Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to uniform, grooming, and appearance standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with all staff and respond to staff concerns and suggestions.
  • Work with the Chef de Cuisine to establish kitchen goals and anticipate and resolve problems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to conduct professional presentations and host culinary workshops.
  • Ability to create new and higher quality service and product standards.
  • Ability to educate team members and guests on trends, lifestyles, and special dietary needs.
  • Ability to inspire and drive effectiveness for the culinary leadership team.
